episode 008:From A Special Place – The Legacy of Silent Hill 2

At long last, here is the show. The big one we’ve been drumming up all these weeks for. The capper episode to our October series is an exploration into the darkest regions of the gamerspace, with a singularly amazing guest. CG Texture & Model artist du jour, Krystal Sau Eua (Red Cliff, 2012, AVATAR, SKYLINE, to name a few) joins the Combo Attack!! gang as they tackle the wonders of Eden Of The East, the versatile timekilling of Minecraft, some words on the Superman movie franchise, before taking on the legacy of Konami’s groundbreaking creepfest, Silent Hill 2!

(*apologies for the often unpredictable sound quality in this one. As much as we rely on machines, one can’t do without a couple of bad spirits in them..)

It’s a one-of-a-kind full-length file that you can take with you in the player of your choice!

Oh, and don’t miss Skyline, coming to theaters in a few weeks!

Episode 007 – The Flesh Of The Matter (Re:The Original Dead Trilogy)

Low on ammunition, supplies, and hope. The CA team is barricading all doors and windows…but they aren’t alone.

Diving headlong into our October series of Combo Attack!! shows, we figured it was time to lay a great geek trope to rest by taking it out the most rudimentary way we know how..from the source. Next to the vampire, fewer modern monsters have gained the pop culture traction quite like the lumbering, moaning, flesh-gnashing zombie. So it only felt natural to take this ever popular concept, and talk the seminal works of one George A. Romero, as we examine the scares & social impact of his original Dead trilogy!

And for just this purpose, we also have on our show, special guest in the form of So-Cal filmmaker, DJ, performance artist, and professed zombiphile, Manuel Gomez (aka @DjLoVeDaY on Twitter!).

From the inimitable classic Night Of The Living Dead, the consumerism-gone madness that is Dawn Of The Dead, and through the grimy 80s apoca-fest, Day Of The Dead, the intrepid four will attempt to navigate, and survive the perils of geek cliche, by sharing views, memories & little known facts about these legendary pieces of horror history, and perhaps why they have become such a staple of fan films, convention panels, and websites.

Hold onto your meat & enjoy! Direct Download

(btw- Should it still not be enough for you after the show, stop on by The Anime Network for a little something extra. ::wink,wink-nudge-Oh OK, I’m leaving.:: )
